Places To Sip in San Diego: A Map of Great Wine Bars in San Diego
It comes as no surprise that my love for wine runs deep and that I’m always on the lookout for a fun local place to drink my vino. So, I figured I would round up five of my personal favorite spots in San Diego for you to try out!
The Rose Wine Bar & Bottle Shop
South Park
The first goes out to the perfect hidden gem in the charming neighborhood of South Park. The Rose is a female-owned wine bar known for its incredible collection of natural wines and delicious bites. A great place to sit outside on a warm San Diego day drinking a glass of wine while nibbling on their incredible empanadas or gluten-free pizza. Plus, it’s surrounded by a handful of adorable boutiques that you can shamelessly shop.
Vino Carta
Little Italy
Vino Carta is the wine enthusiast’s spot. It’s a place you can walk in not knowing a wine and leave knowing everything. Their staff is incredibly educated and willing to educate you, as well. Vino Carta focuses on small, family-run producers, biodynamic farming, and natural winemaking. Whether you’re looking for a place to browse new wines, pick up a unique bottle for a friend’s dinner, or looking to pop the cork after a long day, Vino Carta is THE SPOT. (psst… they’re also on Postmates if you’re not about getting out of those sweatpants and off the couch).
M Winehouse
Little Italy
M Winehouse is a quaint wine bar on the bustling main street of Little Italy, India Street. Nestled between some of the most popular local Italian restaurants, M is an adorably converted victorian home that is a local favorite stop for a glass of wine and a catch-up with a friend. This one is also female-owned and has a killer happy hour.
Village Vino
Kensington
Doesn’t everyone dream of having their favorite neighborhood wine bar that they can stroll into after a hard day's work, leisurely drink a couple of glasses of wine while noshing on a delicious charcuterie board? ...or is that just me? Village Vino is tucked into the adorable neighborhood of Kensington, which sits just east of the 15 freeway and could quite possibly be the most adorable neighborhood. What could quite possibly be the most charming part of Kensington, is that it’s home to only a handful of restaurants, bars, and shops giving the San Diego neighborhood its small-town feel. Village Vino is a local’s treat where you can sit on the patio and enjoy the simplicity of its surroundings.
Boutique Vino Wine Shop & Hangout
Downtown
One of those places that you wouldn’t necessarily stumble upon, Boutique Vino is in the heart of Downtown San Diego and a wine lover's dream and wine knower's local hang. They have a heavy focus on specializing in smaller estates and unique locales. Their little market is a great option to grab some snacks. Another spot that’s great if you don’t feel like leaving the house on a Friday night as they offer same-day local delivery!
