Jenica's Favorite Wine Accessories

You’ve realized that my love for wine is a long-term affair that will only continue to grow and evolve, And, just like my wine, I’m very particular about what I drink my wine out of, what I use to open my wine, and everything in between. Wine is like a great outfit; stand-alone is fantastic, but the accessories bring it all together. I’ve put together a list of my favorite wine accessories.

1. Wine Glass: Crate & Barrel Hip Wine Glasses

Like me, you’re very particular about the type of wine glass you drink out of. These Crate & Barrel wine glasses are a staple in my household. These are the best wine glasses you’ll ever buy! Everything about them is incredible; the way they fit in your hand, the proper thickness of the glass, they’re a great price point at $7.95 a glass, and never mind the fact it fits a hefty pour of my favorite Cab. And lastly, they are sold individually, so they will be easy to replace if you ever break one.

2. Traditional Wine Key: Make Great Pour Decisions Double Lever Wine Key

I was turned onto this wine key by a friend who is also a member of Jen’s Wine Membership, and I now understand the difference an excellent wine key makes. You can easily throw my trusty go-to wine key in your bag for wine emergencies. It’s excellent quality which helps when opening a bottle with a pesky cork.

3. Electric Wine Opener: Rabbit Automatic Corkscrew Wine Bottle Opener

I absolutely love my Rabbit automatic wine bottle opener, and it’s one of my go-to gifts to give. It’s sleek and looks great on a countertop or bar cart. Sometimes you have one of those days that you need that bottle of wine opened as quickly as possible, and the only thing in your way is the cork.

4. Wine Bottle Vacuum Pump: Vacu Vin Wine Saver

A bottle of wine doesn’t quite taste the same the next day until now. Investing in this low-cost vacuum pump will help remove the oxygen from your wine to help preserve the just opened taste the next day. This one is from Collins & Coupe, one of my favorite local San Diego shops is full of unique items to fill your bar cart.

5. Decanter: Smoke Glass Decanter

When you’re a fan of a big, bold red, you quickly find yourself using your decanter more often. It is functional, but it also looks beautiful on your bar cart till it’s ready to be used and chic on the dinner table for your guests to enjoy.

6. Wine Backpack: Corkcicle Eola Bucket Cooler Bag

Summer is just around the corner, which means outdoor dinner parties or enjoying drinks with friends in the park. Lugging around a bottle (or bottles) of wine can be awkward to hold, and hearing them clank around in a bag gets irritating. The Corkcicle wine backpack keeps your wines isolated and can be easily thrown over your shoulder. It comfortably holds two bottles of wine and comes in multiple colors.

7. Wine Resource: The Wine Bible

The more I learn about wine, the more I WANT to learn about wine. Something is fascinating about trying new varietals or exploring wine from different regions. The Wine Bible was introduced to me by a Sommelier, and it’s a great resource to learn more about the wine you’re tasting and understand why certain wines from certain regions taste the way they do or what the best wine and food pairings are. This book is a wealth of knowledge, and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
